Quick Pallet Maker
Quick Pallet Maker is a software application designed to help the package designer optimize the amount of products that can be shipped on a pallet load. The program input can be made starting from either the Primary Package dimensions or the full box dimensions and works with both Imperial and metric units.
The software can calculate a number of secondary package dimensions and pallet arrangements to fit more product in a shipment and reduce shipping costs. The arrangement can be modified and the results viewed in a table format to ensure that all of the desired criteria are met. The result is an arrangement that meets the constraints of the product, a container or truck and plant guidelines such as practical box ratios and maximum box weight limits.
A feature of the software is the ability to find a solution that fits both the primary package and the pallet while maintaining minimum compression strength. The program also allows for the creation of a video palletizing animation which can be used to communicate packing and layout requirements to employees in the factory.
The software is object based which makes it flexible and easy to use. It can be modified and the settings can be saved for reuse in future cases. It can even reapply the available boxes and pallets to new packing problems. This can reduce the time spent by employees looking for available items. In addition it has a graphical view of the entire pallet loading process which shows the location of each item on the pallet.
